iPod Nano
The third generation of the iPod Nano series and the newest of Apple's iPods, the latest iPod Nano gets a design overhaul with a new, remarkably thin metal body and wider screen featuring Apple's new advanced interface design and more video capabilities than previous models. Featuring Apple's design standard of beautiful anodized aluminium for the top and polished stainless steel for the back, the iPod Nano comes in five beautiful colors with a bigger display than previous models, measuring 2.75 inches in height by 2.06 inches in width by 0.26 inches in depth. Playing up to 5 hours of steady video or 24 hours of audio, the iPod Nano is a great multimedia player to take on your next flight.
The greatest departure from previous models is the boxier design and the larger screen with its dramatic and crisp resolution, perfect for gaming and video. Offering excellent picture quality, the latest in the iPod Nano series offers all the features loved by Apple users worldwide, including the new CoverFlow feature for album searching, access to the iTunes store by WiFi, TV shows, podcasts, audiobooks, music, movies, games, photographs, and extras like a built-in calendar and clock.
Another large design change in this third-generation iPod is the split-screen menu, which displays a picture on the left and the menu on the right side of the screen. This new feature along with CoverFlow enables beautiful and seamless browsing through music, videos, photographs, and podcasts.
Coming in silver, black, red, green and blue, every iPod Nano is ready to plug and play, with a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery, accompanying earphones, a USB 2.0 cable, dock adapter, and quick start guide. Coming in two models, a 4GB for 1,000 songs and 8GB model for 2,000 songs, the iPod Nano is priced affordably at $149 and $199 respectively.
What will wow users most is the gorgeous 2 inch (diagonal) screen with its LED backlight and liquid crystal display, offering 320 x 240 pixel resolution. The iPod Nano supports high quality video formats such as H.264 video and also standarad MPEG-4 video, holding up to 4 hours for the 4GB and 8 hours for the 8GB model. Unlike other players its sizes, the new iPod Nano supports remarkably crisp and clear video quality.
Supporting all standard audio formats such as AAC, protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible, Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV with skip-free playback, the iPod Nano can hold up to 1,000 or 2,000 songs depending on model size. The iPod Nano also comes with built-in support for iTunes games and three standard games - Solitaire, iQuiz, and Vortex. The iPod Nano can also function as a USB flash drive when necessary.
While many avid fans of Apple's previous sleek thin models may express dismay at the new square design, the video quality of the new model cannot be challenged. Apple packs a punch in this third-generation model, offering greater video resolution and quality than any other model in the market, especially considering the size and price. Who would imagine that watching movie clips on the go could be as enjoyable as this in such a small device?
