iPhoneMobileMob.com - Google Book Search on the iPhone

Don't have time for a good book? Nonsense, say the folks at Apple and Google. If you've got the iPhone, they've got the books. That's what the big iPhone buzz circulating the web today.

Google Book Search has now been adapted for iPhones (as well as the Google Android mobile OS platform), so that U.S. users of these mobile devices can now pore through a catalog of over 1.5 million books in the public domain (non-U.S. users can still enjoy the service, but with a more limited selection of "only" .5 million titles).

So, of course the next question everyone is asking is--will Amazon follow? With its neat and new Kindle digital reader (not necessarily as successful as Amazon-ians might have liked, nor as successful as it could have been sans economic black hole) it seems obvious that transitioning the technology to iPhones would be imminent.

And it is. The New York Times announced that Amazon will be bringing e-book titles to several select mobile devices. When? As soon as possible, no doubt.
