iPhone Tap Tap Games

When you first hear the description of the Tap-Tap line of games made for the iPhone - that it's a game that tests your rhythm by having you tap in time with the songs it's playing - it might sound like a bit of a bore. Except for one thing.

The songs are familiar hits recorded by some of the music industries biggest stars.

There's Tap-Tap Revenge which is currently iPhone's 3rd most popular free iPhone app in the App Store. It started out with songs by a group of hired musicians, but now boasts hits from over 55 hitmakers.

There's a Nine Inch Nails special edition of the game.

And now there's Tap-Tap Dance, launched just today, that features the likes of Moby, the Chemical Brothers, Justice, Soul Magic Orchestra, and Daft Punk.

This Christmas season also sees "Christmas With Weezer" a Tap-Tap style game the includes 6 classic Christmas songs specially recorded by Weezer for the game. "Christmas with Weezer" will sell for $4.99.

So many musicians are seeing Tap-Tap's potential to help increase lagging album sales that the games' maker, Palo Alto based Tapulous, says that next year it plans to put out new song packs and special edition versions of the game every month.
