In an effort to make iPhone usage more affordable to people making long and frequent overseas phone calls, AT&T is now offering 2 new iPhone data plans designed for frequent international callers.

Not that these data plans are particularly cheap.

A 100 MB block costs $119.99 per month. And a 200 MB block costs $199 per month.

What’s more, that’s on top of the regular calling fees charged for simply using the iPhone to make phone calls from within the US.

On the plus side, these international plans require no contractual commitments, and users taking short trips can purchase plans for a short a period as a single month.

Most people won’t pay that much money for that little time. But there is a niche of people for whom this introduction is a welcome relief, and you’ll recognize those as the ones who are always racking up roaming charges.
