iPhoneMobileMob.com - iPhone Remote Control

Recently, we mentioned the upcoming “Grand Opening” of the iPhone App Store, an online and mobile interface similar to iTunes, but for purchasing and downloading mobile applications for the Apple iPhone. Well the expansion of the iPhone’s functionality (and that of the iPod Touch too, for that matter) is rumored to be taking an even bigger and brighter turn just around the bend.

Apparently before too long iPhone and iPod Touch users will be able to use their devices as in-home Wi-Fi Remote Controls for iTunes. According to a report on CNet News online a beta-release of iTunes 7.7 made available to developers only revealed the existence of this fascinating new feature.

Download and use of the software (like all previous iTunes versions) will be free and will grant users remote access to their iTunes library stored, presumably, on a home or office based desktop or laptop with a much larger hard drive capacity than either of the newly enabled handheld devices.
