Adam is a young man who was kind enough to let us all know how he likes the new iPhone 3G from Apple.
I finally succumbed to the lure of the iPhone around four months ago and right from the off, I've been very impressed with it. As you would expect from Apple, the whole thing is built with the user in mind meaning that it's incredibly easy to operate.
Whether you're looking for directions in Google Maps or checking your emails from bed on a lazy Sunday morning, the iPhone aims to be the answer to all your communication needs, and when you factor in the sheer number of Applications which can be downloaded, the iPhone becomes practically indispensible.
There are a couple of downsides that have left me slightly disappointed though.
First up is the battery life. If you're planning on using the Wi-Fi and Internet services regularly (and if you're not, then you should probably look for another mobile!), then you'll find that the juice is sucked out of your iPhone battery at an alarming rate. Heavy use will mean your phone will last a little over a day on a single charge, so be sure to have access to some sort of charger on a regular basis.
The other gripe I have is a short lived one. I was disappointed that I couldn't send MMS messages or receive them without being requested to log into a secure web server. This does appear to be something that the new firmware (released later this month) will fix though which is great news.
All in all, the iPhone is a fantastic piece of kit and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone. It's one of those things that gradually works its way into your life until you end up wondering how you ever lived without it. Not only is it my portable music player, but due to various free apps it's also my first stop for news and emails as well as more mundane things like what I should have to eat when I get in from work in the evening!
